DOZEN DAMES/WOMEN IN THE WIND
New York Chapter

A Bit of History....
The Dozen Dames were conceived in 2006, in a parking lot in the Bronx, New York.  Twelve women were participating in a three day Safety Motorcycle Class.
Friendships were nurtured during those three short days, the support that was shared was very special.  Once our classes were over we decided that in the near future we would come together again and form an all female motorcycle club, and we would call ourselves " Dozen Dames ", Double D's for short.
Unfortunately, life tends to get in the way of  the most well planned intentions, so perhaps we don't have all the original Dames, we may not be a dozen yet, but we certainly have recruited some very special ladies.
These ladies have brought their own hopes and dreams and are looking to share them with the rest of the members, we are hoping that you will consider being part of this team and help make it happen.
The Dozen Dames are a group of women from different walks of life, we love to ride, we enjoy riding locally to meet up just to shoot the breeze,as well as ride through different towns to experience the sites and sounds with no pressure of time nor speed.
We allow it to become a memory that didn't pass us in a blur, we are in it for the thrill of the ride and the destination that it will take us.
We welcome all women to ride with us regardless of motorcycle type or riding skill level.
Our goal is to educate women on riding safely, and to promote to the public a positive image of female motorcyclist.
We invite you to join us and begin to create new friendships and a sisterhood that will carry us over from one riding season into another.
We aim to develop a support system for each other that will enhance the experience and allow each individual to develop their skill on their own time.
If you are a lady who is willing to dedicate her time and effort into helping this group achieve their hopes and dreams in a joint manner, no power trips no hangups, one for all, all for one... We are looking for you!!!

A NEW TRADITION FOR THE DAMES

Every chapter has a tradition of keeping track of little mishap's along the way, its about sharing the experience and the laughter that comes with it. Because it does not matter how long you been riding we all make mistakes.
Our tradition will be a journal / scrapbook we will call "OOps, I can't believe I did that" Each rider will document their little accident, you get to take it home and write about it, just bring it back at the next meeting and share with the rest of the group... REMEMBER !!
this is strictly for laughs, its not meant to pass any judgment or criticism.
